USCIS Says It Will Not Change H-1B Extension Policy

USCIS told the McClatchy DC news service that it is not considering changes to H-1B extensions for individuals who have started the green card process and need to extend their H-1B beyond six years. This is encouraging as thousands of foreign born employees would have been negatively impacted by this change, and most likely forced to leave the US.

USCIS, however, is still reviewing many aspects of the employment-based visa programs, so expect changes in the near future.
